Confusion in Vanuatu

People have been so far down with news update in Vanuatu, there have been incidents that have happened (Political State), four incidents that happened after another and it's what causes confusion between Ni-Van understanding.

  • Clerence Marae case
  • AFP deportation
  • ACP meeting in Vanuatu
  • Indonesia Providing Aid
all this happened in different settings but look so related, that is what causes confusion, the first case was personal(between Clerence Marae and the AFP), the second was integrity related(between Hon. Prime Minister and the AFP(Australian Federal Police), the third case is linked to the fourth case(Indonesia providing aid towards the ACP meeting held in Vanuatu).
For freedom sake, let's continue to hear every one's opinion, but it is sure to leave it to the interest of the public and not personal interest.

pv08b

Establishing the new set of organ in the Youth Challenge vanuatu organization, the pv08b challengers have dedicate their time and money for a set up of this organ(pv08b). With total of 15 challengers participating in community development and leadership development, the challengers established an idea of setting that particular organ (a money lending scheme) to help them in whatever their neediest point would be, thanks to Pallen Abraham Philip (president of pv08b) who initiated that taught, and so fort they all work together to make sure it shall come to existence, so far the business is running on a stable rout, and is generating as much income as possible. With success the organ have serve many in the YCV building and is looking forward to extend its services.
"Good Luck pv08b"
                                           pv08b, a visit to Etha's 3 weeks old baby.

I loving memory of my grand father, I created the initiative to commemorate my grand fathers existence with a reunion, my self and my best cousin (Gael Lavinia Mahit) set up a group namely Generation Kanegae Reunion (GKR), our grand father was from the line of kanegae's (a Japanese herd) who moved in and settle on the Vila island (Ifira).
The GKR includes only the grand children and the grate grand children of Antoine Kanegae, GKR has a board of committee which undertake certain tasking (as per set).
The GKR will be organizing the first ever family reunion on the month of December 2012, with sets of activities and meetings to be conducted, the members of GKR monthly contributes an amount to ensure the organization is operating with funds.
details on the functioning of the organization should be on the next issue, but for now, looking forward to a successful outcome.

The Black Man's Burden by: Pallen. Thiam. Abraham. Philip

Take up the BLACK man’s burden,
Take up the BLACK man’s load,
Take up the BLACK man’s burden,
Can you handle his soul?

Try fitting every description
Try dropping out of school for lack of funds
Try joining the minority
Of a country that hates her sons.

Try growing up with no father
Avoiding the strains of the streets
Try hearing your mother cry
For lack of money, food and warm sheets

Try supporting a family that never sees you
Try loving God but fearing life
Try waking up early hours and working hard
With no insurance, a time card, and a miserable life

Try walking into a store
And watching everybody watching you
Try stepping on the bus
Watching the old white women’s faces turn blue

Try fighting for life under the influence
Of other sprayed eyes and begging arms
Try telling that judge and those lawyers
That you are innocent, while remaining calm

Try upholding a family of four
Sending them all to college
Try standing tall and proud
As they walk down the isles of knowledge

Try resisting negative glances,
Try having unrecognized talent
Try working 15 hours while studying
To compete with those whose paths have been set by
their parents

Try holding your head high
Despite the storms and tempests of manhood
Try doing this without aging
Without one wrinkle, without gray hairs, just stay
looking good

Try wearing FUBU or Rocawear
Sean John and Ray Ban gear
Try writing a rhyme or a lyric
Try preaching God’s love to a world that will never
hear

You say what you’d like about my brothers
They’re strong and steadfast in all that they do
They may fit your description, they may seem negative
But unless you can take up my BLACK man’s burden

Then none of what you say is true.

TIMES
BY: Pallen. Thiam. Abraham. Philip

Old times and good times
They come and go
But you always blessed most times
When you have been through so

The gift of friendship at times
When never would wanna lose
But we always have new times
So the friends can be more close

Family fails at times
But we always keep our roots
Coz families change over times
But we anchored down like hooks

Pray a prayer at times
When all hope's are of the drain
He's always there all times
For he expects to feel your pain

All my life's I’ve been through times
It's like nothing you would not expect
But am running the race with times
For game on and no disrespect

Training for success

The Day goes very slowly when you have to many things in-hand, I recently attended a 1 week management training on Monitoring and Evaluation, the training was so supportive and up skilling, I manage to score the pass with 99% of the total participants, The training was a National Monitoring and Evaluation Fundamentals in work place, the training comes in as a package with 9 modules:
  • Module 1: Introduction to monitoring and evaluation
  • Module 2: Implementing monitoring and evaluation
  • Module 3: Understanding you program
  • Module 4: Which M&E?
  • Module 5: Measures and indicators
  • Module 6: Collecting data
  • Module 7: Data Management
  • Module 8: Data analysis and triangulation
  • Module 9: Reporting and using M&E data
All of these were done in only a week.
Congratulation I manage to complete the training and now feel so comfortable in my work place.

Work

Started working at the World Vision in Vanuatu on June 2011, the new position undertaken was Assessment and Design Coordinator, the job was difficult, especially when you really quite not understand your role, but then as I venture into the details and acquiring more and more experiences, I realize it is much more fun to at work, my first three months where just orientation in the field, doing assessment for two separate provinces in quite a hard working job, when you have the 3 months just doing desk reviews, then later I started the venture out into communities a bit, then back in, a couple of training and workshop internal and external improves my standard. In the month of arch I have just submitted 2 separate provincial Assessment report which can deliberately  help in designing of new community projects, as per needy. Am looking forward in accomplishing my starts and end with a better finish.

Graduated 2010

In 2010 I was offered a one year scholarship to study Community Base Disability Rehabilitation, success I have finally Graduated in 1st place with all "A's" in all 8 modules, including the IAP for all AusAid students.
Unfortunately the field in my home country was not really necessary, because the organization which i was gonna be register under was running on donor funds and they have not been doing any good reporting and management  tracking in the past so the donor decided to pull out from them. The government did no really support the organization, so it is still running with out funds and human resources. I am hoping to get a few experience from my current job then support that organization in the future.
